In Like The Rose...

Wishing I hadn't left my Factory Girl dvd up in Sheffield right now, properly in the mood to watch it. Had work today, seemed like the longest shift in history, though this may be related to the unbearable humidity that made it very hard to concentrate. Went for a Starbucks with Anna after work, spent about 2 hours ranting about money and chain smoking, as per usual. Certainly made me think alot about what I am doing in terms of postgrad study, the cost is just so huge...

Pretty jealous of Alex right now, he is in Sheffield, drinking his way down Division Street and eating an entire loaf of bread made into 1 massive chicken sandwich. I can't wait to be back up north, hopefully it will be in a couple of weeks for the weekend, see the house again etc. Also spend the ARK voucher I have left up there, get something nice and summery for Reading Fest (hopefully it won't rain, otherwise my money will be better spent on an anorak). I am considering buying some gold sequin hotpants, new low...

Last night I went round Kat's with Fay and we started putting together some playlists for her party next weekend. This is the next dilemma - I need to find a good Alice in Wonderland costume that nobody else is going to have, I was thinking going as one of the baby oysters would be a good idea, but this seems to be a tricky feat, considering I have very limited funds and no arts and crafts materials lurking around my house with which to create a big oyster shell with. I have until next Saturday, might have a look in Reading when I go with my cousin on Tuesday. Also on the hunt for some black and white film disposable cameras, literally have no idea where to look for them, but apparently you can get them. I just thought they would be great to have a play around with, things always look amazing in B&W.

've been listening to alot of acoustic stuff today, a little more chilled, because I've spent the last two weeks listening to excessive amounts of hardcore-punk. I'm loving 'Slow Club' at the moment, a) because they are good b) because they are from sheffield c) because i saw them at the back of bar one in sheffield a few months ago at fuzztival, and the songs came across really well live, and they kept bursting out laughing like they were really enjoying themselves.

Cheerful music like this goes with the (very rare) sunny weather we have had today...
